Don’t miss out on some local street food while you’re here too – the Niçois speciality ‘socca’ at Ches Thérésa. It’s served in a paper cone if you want to eat this tasty chickpea flatbread on the go. On Mondays, Cours Saleya gives way to an antique market. Enjoy the buzz of local chatter as you browse pottery, paintings and jewellery. From June to September, on your way to dinner, stop by the evening crafts market. Whether you want to pick up a bouquet, snap some photos, or listen to the street musicians – Cours Saleya captures the Nice’s soul.

Castle Hill

Castle Hill takes visitors to new heights above the city of Nice, offering panoramic views of the Bay of Angels, irresistible turquoise waters, port and Old Town. Whether you take the lift, the cute tourist train or brave the three-hundred steps – a trip to the top is an absolute must. The Castle Hill Park at the top is like discovering a secret garden. Walk among shaded paths perfect for picnics, enjoy refreshments, play areas and of course, the old castle ruins. Castle Hill was where the first city of Nice was born. Cameras will be buzzing from endless wow-factor vantage points of a French Riviera gem city, and don’t miss out on the park’s huge cascading waterfall.

Nice Old Town

Wandering around Nice Old Town is like stepping into a Matisse painting. With colourful buildings, charming alleyways and a vibrant buzz – it’s here that you’ll experience the local charm of the French Riviera. Admire the explosion of scents at the rainbow-coloured Flower Market, walking to the beat of local street performers. If you look through the arches across the road, you’ll get a glimpse of Nice’s iconic azure waters. The Old Town is home to the Neoclassical Palais de Justice and Place Rossetti with its stunning cathedral and fountain. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a crêpe or ice cream. Stop at one of the many restaurants lining the cobbled streets and watch the world go by in Vieux Nice.

Promenade des Anglais

Known to locals as ‘the Prom’, this waterfront walkway treats visitors to endless views of Nice’s turquoise-meets-sapphire seas and is a city hotspot. It’s lined with palms and stretches around the whole Baie des Anges, Angels Bay – with many lido entrances that’ll tempt you for a dip or something to eat. Soak up the buzz of activity from street artists to runners and skaters or sit down on an iconic blue chair watching the world go by. Keep an eye out for some of the promenade’s famous sculptures and landmarks including Hotel Negresco and a public park. Don’t forget to snap a selfie at the ‘I love Nice’ sign for happy memories strolling along the Promenade des Anglais.
